Smart Cards / Prox Cards / Access Cards - These are used to open access doors and keyless entry proximity. Each card has a unique frequency that identifies the cardholder and can be printed onto in a badge printer, or attached to with an adhesive back card and reused once an employee leaves. Prox Key tags and adhesive chips are also used to gain entry info a facility and trigger a door.

Blank Cards - These are all of the standard cards certified for use in the badge printers. These also include cards with encodable magnetic stripes, cardjet cartridges and thinner adhesive-backed cards for attachment to reusable badges. All cards are plain white pvc or tougher pvc / polyester blend stronger heat resistant manufacturer recommended cards.

Colored Cards - Many colors to choose from and for use in badge printers. Commonly used for passes, tickets, wallet-sized remonder information, phone lists, etc. Colored cards are recommended for use with monochrome (one color) ribbons rather than full color ribbons. Full color ribbon dye blends with the card color and changes or distorts colors. However ,resin ribbons are perfect for these and are not affected by the card.

Preprinted Cards - Preprinted cards are those that are printed onto before they go through the badge printer if even at all. Variable information can also be printed on the cards and almost any custom request can be fulfilled within 2 weeks production time. Preprinted cards are not certified for use in a card printer due to different quality assurance techniques from various manufacturers. The fragile printhead's life can be greatly shortened by a poorly cut and scored card with rough edges.

Disclaimer Cards - The are simply preprinted cards created for companies with single-sided printers who would like their company information or remi to information on the back printed in black text only. Disclaimer cards can also be preprinted by the customer using a monochrome ribbon and flipped over once ready to print the full color front side.
